Cheree A. Kiernan, PMP
President | Chief Executive Officer
As President and CEO, Cheree provides the overall leadership and strategic vision for the ILS team and is responsible for the implementation and execution of corporate policy, goals and objectives, and daily operations.
Cheree has a B.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Central Florida and a M.S. degree in Systems Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology. In 1998 she joined the Boeing team in Seal Beach, California as a Systems Engineer for the Integrated Defense Systems Division. There she supported spacecraft design and development programs such as Ellipso, Global Positioning System (GPS), and Global Multi-Mission Satellite Platform (GMSP). In 2003 she joined the Delta Program in Cape Canaveral, Florida, supporting mission integration, flight operations, ground operations, and range integration. She worked closely with customers including National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), United States Air Force (USAF), and National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) to define and coordinate day-of-launch concepts of operation, telemetry and voice communication plans, and anomaly resolution plans for Delta II and Delta IV missions launching from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS) and Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB). In 2005, she was awarded the Director’s Award for her support of the Delta IV Heavy Demo mission.
In 2007, Cheree joined SAIC as a Senior Systems Engineer supporting the development and modification of ground systems and infrastructure for the NASA Constellation Program where she was awarded the NASA Space Flight Awareness Leadership Award in 2010 for her role in the development and coordination of program plans, processes, and key design milestone reviews. She transitioned back to launch operations as the SAIC Program Manager for the NASA KSC Expendable Launch Vehicle Integration Services (ELVIS) contract, leading the contractor Safety and Mission Assurance (S&MA) team for the Launch Services Program (LSP). Under her leadership, the ELVIS S&MA team was awarded three consecutive 100% award fee scores by the KSC Center Director for their support to NASA in the areas of safety, reliability, quality, and mission assurance. Cheree was awarded the NASA Space Flight Awareness Leadership Award in 2010 and the Society of Women Engineers Space Coast Woman Engineer of the Year Award in 2012. She is also Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified.
In addition to her role as CEO for ILS, Cheree currently serves on the Board of Directors for Rolling Readers Space Coast (RRSC), a 501(c)(3) non-profit literacy organization that has engaged more than 110,000 students, gifted more than 134,000 books, and facilitated more than 250,000 volunteer service hours, directly benefiting students and classrooms in Brevard County, Florida. Cheree also serves on the Central Brevard Relay for Life committee and received the 2018 Brevard Volunteer of the Year award from the American Cancer Society.
